Traditional Acupuncture

An ancient Chinese medicine, traditional acupuncture been in use for over three thousand years. It is based on the theory that the body’s natural vitality and communications system, Qi, moves through the body in channels called meridians.

Pain and illness signal that the body, or Qi, is out of balance. There can be many reasons for this; emotional and physical stress, poor nutrition, infection or injury are among the most common. By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, a traditional acupuncturist seeks to re-establish the body’s equilibrium triggering its natural healing response.

Conditions treated by traditional acupuncture include:

  • Fertility: including pregnancy and post-natal
  • Women’s Health: menstrual pain, cramps, PMT
  • Muscular Pain (back, neck, shoulder, etc.)
  • Chronic and post viral fatigue
  • Stress disorders; insomnia, jaw clenching and grinding, migraines
  • Digestive disorders including IBS
